Who’s Who in the Zoo: Richard Scott - Business Development Director, Professional Textile Care Division True Blue Christeyns

Richard Scott brings more than 30 years of experience across the chemical, laundry, and hospitality industries, with a strong track record in delivering innovative cleaning solutions and driving operational excellence across a wide range of commercial environments.

Over the course of his career, Richard has developed deep expertise in professional hygiene chemical applications, commercial laundry systems, and overall hygiene management. Starting in the industry early on, he built a solid technical foundation that has supported his work with hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and large-scale commercial operations.

Richard is known for his ability to quickly understand operational needs and implement practical, tailored cleaning and laundry solutions. His expertise spans chemical formulation, safe handling practices, regulatory compliance, and improving efficiency in high-demand environments.

Reflecting on the current market, Richard notes that “with the increasing focus on resource savings and rising operational costs, I’m in a fortunate position to introduce Christeyns to the Australian market.”

Throughout his career, he has helped businesses lift cleanliness standards, extend the lifespan of textiles and equipment, and reduce operating costs. His hands-on approach, combined with a strong balance of technical knowledge and real-world application, has made him a trusted partner to both clients and teams.

Beyond his technical strengths, Richard is also recognised for his leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building skills. He has played a key role in training teams, supporting business growth, and developing long-term partnerships built on trust and results.

Richard is now embarking on an exciting new chapter as Business Development Director for True Blue Christeyns in the Professional Textile Care division. In this role, he is focused on expanding the company’s presence across Australia and New Zealand, while continuing to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the region.

He shares that “the Cool Care Low Impact washing concepts are what really excite me about launching Christeyns in ANZ. I’m particularly enthusiastic about our WECO approach — Water, Energy/Gas, Chemicals, and Operational Processes — which positions Christeyns ahead of the competition. Our engineering solutions will help laundries achieve more with fewer resources, benefiting both the environment and our customers’ bottom line.”

Driven by a commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, Richard continues to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and best practices within the chemical and hygiene space.
