This Privacy Policy explains how Luminar Software Pty Ltd ("Luminar", "we", "us"), the operator of laundry.link, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use anything we run under the laundry.link name (together, the "Services"). That covers our websites, the laundry.link platform and the mobile apps we publish for it — including the LaundryOS app on the App Store and Google Play — the laundry.link marketplace, and our publications.

1. Who we are

laundry.link serves the commercial laundry industry in Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Under one name we run three things:

  • The platform — the software commercial laundries use to run their operations, together with the mobile apps we publish for it.
  • The marketplace — classified advertising where the industry buys and sells machinery, consumables, spare parts and whole businesses, advertises job vacancies, and lists suppliers in the showroom.
  • The publications — Laundry Link News, our bi-monthly magazine, and the Commercial Laundry 101 podcast.

All of it is provided by Luminar Software Pty Ltd, and this policy applies to all of it. We are responsible for the personal information we handle in connection with the Services. If you have any questions, contact us atprivacy@laundry.link.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — name, email, company, phone number and role, provided when you register for the platform, create a marketplace account, request a demo or contact us.
  • Listings and advertisements — the content you submit when you place a classified ad, list a business for sale, advertise a job or take a showroom entry, including the description, photographs, location, price and the contact details you want buyers to use.
  • Enquiries and messages — what you send us through a contact form, and what you send an advertiser through the marketplace.
  • Subscriptions — the email address you give us to receive Laundry Link News or our newsletter, and whether you opened or clicked what we sent.
  • Customer data — the operational data your organisation enters into the platform (such as customers, orders, routes and RFID records). This is processed on your behalf, and your organisation controls it. It is never used for the marketplace or the publications.
  • Usage data — how you interact with the Services, including device, browser, IP address, pages viewed and feature usage, collected through standard logging and analytics.
  • Cookies — small files used to operate the site, remember preferences and measure usage. See "Cookies" below.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, maintain and improve the Services.
  • To set up demos, respond to enquiries and provide support.
  • To publish the listings you submit, and to pass enquiries about them to the advertiser.
  • To send you Laundry Link News and our newsletter where you have asked for them, and to measure whether they were read.
  • To send service, security and (where permitted) marketing communications.
  • To monitor, secure and protect the Services and prevent misuse.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your customer data to train AI models.

4. What you publish is public

The marketplace is a public noticeboard. A listing you place — its description, photographs, location, asking price and the contact details you provide — is visible to anyone who visits the site, and may be indexed by search engines, appear in our newsletter or be shared on our social channels. Only put contact details in a listing that you are willing to publish. You can edit or remove a listing at any time, or ask us to; once removed it may persist for a period in search engine caches, which we do not control.

5. Legal bases

Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply, we handle personal information in accordance with them. Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing and sub-processors

We share personal information only as needed to run the Services: with trusted sub-processors (such as cloud hosting, infrastructure and analytics providers) bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations; with your organisation's administrators; with other users of the marketplace, where you have published a listing or sent an advertiser an enquiry; and where required by law. A current list of sub-processors is available on request.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, audit logging and tenant isolation.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Customer data is retained according to your organisation's agreement with us, and deleted or returned on request after termination. Listings are kept while they are live and for a period afterwards so buyers and sellers have a record of the deal; subscription details are kept until you unsubscribe.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contactprivacy@laundry.link. For customer data, please direct requests to your organisation, for whom we act as a processor.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we put appropriate safeguards in place as required by applicable law.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the site, as well as optional analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

12. Children

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
